Out of fossil fuels,
into social justice.

As Rinascimento Green we run campaigns and advocacy to leave coal, oil and gas behind for good, recognising the shift to renewable energy as one of the essential, top-priority keys to stopping the climate emergency.

We work to promote the energy and ecological transition as tools to reduce inequality, building a fairer, more inclusive and more liveable society, based on the wellbeing of people and of the planet's ecosystems.

A path made of advocacy with institutions, but also of mobilisation and local, national and international initiatives, often carried out together with other networks and organisations working to phase out fossil fuels and for climate justice.

Italia Libera Energia

Italia Sicura e Indipendente (A Safe and Independent Italy) is the national campaign in which, with irony and hard data, we take apart the fairy tale of “safe gas” and fossil dependence, to tell the story of an Italy that chooses sun, wind and intelligence as true energy security.

The energy transition as an opportunity for freedom, health and jobs, not as a sacrifice.

The narrative

The truth

  • We pay dearly for it, between contracts, infrastructure and swinging prices: the bill lands on our energy bills.
  • Independence isn't switching suppliers: it means staying tied to other people's imports, routes and decisions.
  • Gas is also power and blackmail: whoever controls the tap and the prices can sway the economy and politics.

2020 · Petition and proposals

A Green New Deal for Italy

Environment, health and economy are one single problem, with one single solution. During the pandemic we gathered the ideas of thousands of people, associations and scientists into five proposals for a recovery that does not go back to unlimited growth.

  1. Homes, offices and businesses with near-zero energy use
  2. A safe territory: environmental clean-ups and an end to land consumption
  3. Sustainable mobility and remote work
  4. A high-quality, widespread and circular economy
  5. Technology for sustainability and broadband for the whole country
